The 44th SCEPSTA conference was kindly hosted by our treasurer, Alan Christie, in Dublin this year. Alan, with the help of his charming wife Elisabeth, was able to organise a beautiful venue at the heart of Dublin, right next to St. Stephen’s Green. At the beginning of October we spent two days at the Royal College of Physicians and were inspired by the thousands of books, surrounding us in the bookshelves.

Our subject title this year wasn’t an easy one – Advances in TIE – Training Impact Evaluation – The Holy Grail of Training Professionals. The one thing, the representatives from all nine European countries agreed on, was that it is a very complex field, difficult to tackle. Our three speakers, however, were able to shed some light into the matter and after having spent two days with some theory, some best practice examples, and some critical discussions we had gained some valuable insights into the matter of Training Impact Evaluation.

We are very happy to be able to announce the next SCEPSTA conference in 2018, which will take place in October on the beautiful island of Malta. Further details will follow soon.
